👻 gothic is a community currently modded by two individuals who view rp as a hobby and nothing more. we're here to be creative, develop characters and have fun. we want to promote our community as a very laid back setting where everyone, even the mods, recognize that it's 2023 and we all have lives outside of rp and real life comes first. having said that, no community survives unless members are commenting the fp. all new activity rules will be announced at the beginning of a new cycle and will never spring anything mid-cycle on you (outside of activity checks). all are required to come in with a friendly attitude. as always, please read all of the rules before you consider joining! we hope to see you here.

👻 setting up & applying

01. please use ic or ooc journals here, whichever you have available to you. no underscores or random letters/numbers will be permitted. you must have one ic and one ooc post back/future dated in your journals so that when people run the button your posts do not show up on the fp. your ic post should have your character's full name, birthdate, hometown, neighborhood, occupation, etc. please include a 100-300 word blurb about their personality or basic history.

02.. please use the code sources listed in the application post to compose your layouts, icons and character profiles. include more than one icon when you apply. all members are required to set their comment settings to friends only - we will reject you if you do not change your settings. please read the journal security rule section for more details.

03. if your app has been deleted that means you have been rejected. we do not answer inquiries about rejections. if you're wondering why you were rejected, please review the rules to see if there is anything you missed.

👻 update cycle rules

01. your first step in activity is to post your intro or reply to the questions left for your character in an intro ama. you must reply to all of the comments left for you within 48 hours. all members are expected to make an effort to be friendly and present during the month on the fp. please avoid using no-embed in your profiles as we remove people based on their flists being out of date. if we can't see your flists, we'll assume it is.

02. commenting intros, activities and other posts should be your #1 priority. many people die off instantly because it seems like no one really cares that they've joined and we don't want to see that here. please be active and present on the fp, we don't feel that's unreasonable to expect. while we do not have set rules about how many times you should be commenting or how many posts you need to be seen interacting on during the week, we will remove anyone who has gone 7 days without commenting once . if you're going to be too busy to comment intros over 7 days, then you should really be on hiatus. be please let us know.

03. you must update once a month with something substantial ie: a narrative, detailed moodboard/playlist/etc. updating more than once is encouraged but not required.

04. lastly, we are first and foremost a sol community. this means that you should not be waiting around for the mods to post things about the town, activities, etc. to engage and do things. this community is about interacting with each other so the fp should not die because we haven't posted anything new in a couple days.

👻 everything else

01. we are app free. your number one focus should be the fp and only the fp. wire, discord, telegraph, etc: are banned.

02. reminder: we require all members to set their comment settings to friends only.
